Description
At certain times of the year, from our house, the airplane flight path coming into Orange County John Wayne Airport aligns with the rising moon. This is a capture of an airplane crossing the moon. Taken with a 300mm lens, it is still quite enlarged. First attempt, first capture.

I like it Linda, it's very interesting. I wouldn't get much sleep because I'd be out there all night shooting the planes as they cross the moon. Great shot.
Linda Brody replied:
David, you only have a very limited window of about 10 minutes. Remember the landing pattern does not vary much, but the moon keeps rising... So the timing of the planes crossing the moon is limited. Each night is also different, and each month is different. At least from our house, we only have this opportunity about 3 months of the year. Unless WE change our position.... but for us, it is hard to get a clear vantage point, without trees, or city in the way.... I would love to see what others could do with this idea.
