Marshland area in Huntington Beach Central Park.
Huntington Central Park is the largest city-owned and operated park in Orange County. It is comprised of 356 sprawling acres that include Central Park West and Central Park East. Central Park West features the Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center, Huntington Beach Disc Golf Course, Lake Huntington, Kathy May's Lakeview Cafe, Dog Park, a covered picnic shelter available for rent, and the Shipley Nature Center. Central Park East includes the Central Library and Cultural Center, Huntington Beach Playhouse, Adventure Playground, Huntington Beach Sports Complex, Park Bench Cafe, meandering trails, an exercise par course, picnic tables and grills, a natural amphitheater and a bandstand. Free and paid public parking is available in lots throughout the park. Huntington Central Park is also home to many activities and special events, including the annual Civil War Days, a battle re-enactment held every Labor Day weekend, concerts, Shakespeare in the Park, the Easter Hunt and Family Fun Day and the Taste of Huntington Beach.
