Description
A group of hungry juvenile Bluebirds all trying to fit onto a small feeder.
The Western Bluebird is a bit larger than a sparrow, appears round-shouldered when perched. Head, wings, and tail blue, breast and back rusty red. Females are paler, duller, with rusty breat, grayish throat and belly. Breeds from S. British Columbia, western U.S. to mountains of central Mexico. Habitat is scatted trees, open conifer forests, farms. In winter, semi-open terrain, brush, deserts.
