Description
There is always one.... looking or facing the wrong way. As such, these are not Ducks in a row. These are ducks out of order. Female Mallards just getting out of the water to dry off in the warm sun. One is still dripping wet and flapping to shake dry. This photo was taken at a commercial office complex that features a lily pond in Orange, California.
The mallard or wild duck is a dabbling duck which breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, the Falkland Islands and South Africa. This duck belongs to the subfamily Anatinae of the waterfowl family Anatidae.
